seven days ago...

I woke up still expecting to have a baby any day.

Seven days ago I was praying that said baby would be healthy, with five fingers and five toes.

Seven days ago I delivered a healthy, perfect, baby girl.

Seven days ago I was blessed with my third dream come true.

Hailey is only seven days old, but fits into the family like she's been here all along. We couldn't be happier, or any more thankful for the wonderful little blessing we welcomed into our family just seven days ago.

Happy one week birthday, Baby Hailey!

gracie and hanna meet baby hailey

The girls were beyond thrilled to meet their new baby sister. This was the second day, and the second time they got to see her.
Gracie was a big girl, and held her so nice. Telling everyone she was right about her being a "gill". (Even though she changed her mind every day.)
Hanna thought it was her job to kiss and sing to her. She's going to be an amazing big sister.

It came time for Hanna to let Gracie hold her again, and Hanna got a big, broken-hearted lip, and...
It was very pitiful.
More pictures coming soon! It's busy around here right now!

and it's a....

very chunky little GIRL!!
Hailey Elizabeth was born at about 8:30 last night, weighing in at a whopping 9lbs 13oz.
She's healthy and perfect.
More on her (with pictures) when we get home.

sprinkler fun

I think I have the woosiest kids when it comes to water.
Especially cold, hose water.
Can't say I blame them.
But seriously? An umbrella?
Only Gracie would beg me to get the sprinkler going, and come back outside with an umbrella to run through it.

I think Hanna thought she was kinda nuts.
But joined her anyhow.

Hanna would run as close as possible...and when she got hit with a drop of water would come running back screaming with excitment.

Silly girls I have.

we have a date!

My mom and I went to my regular OB visit today, and we have a set date now for the arrival of baby O'Hara. It was thought to be the 20th (which would be on Friday), but it's actually the 25th. So Wednesday at approximately 8:00am, I should be on the way to the hospital! Unless of course, I go sooner...which I might. Things are moving along quicker than I expected, so we'll see.

My mom kept the girls while I waited in the office, and they were cruising along the halls. You know how it goes...up and down the elevators, running down the halls. Anything to keep them entertained. They ran into the waiting room a few times to see me while I waited.

After they left the first time a woman actually said that she recognized Hanna from a newspaper article a couple months back! It's a funny feeling having your child being recognized in public by a complete stranger. It was really neat actually. Like a little celebrity. :)

After seeing the doctor, we went out for lunch. Hanna was so hungry! She was saying in the car "french fries! french fries!" and pretty much kept chanting it until the waitress brought the platter to our table. It actually barely made it onto the table before she started serving herself. It's good to see her eat so well, because she (and Gracie for that matter) can be very fickle eaters.
Gracie had to tell the waitress her, and Hanna's names, and how to spell them before we left. The kid isn't shy...
Honestly, I'm not sure where she gets it.'s pretty exciting that we have an actual date now to work with. Matt can take a couple days off, and we'll have everything ready for baby #3!
(Still nameless, by the way)

thank you!

I just wanted to take a second and thank everyone who gave me some name ideas for the soon-to-come little O'Hara! They all helped...seriously. We've been debating names for months, and we have no choice now, but to choose one.
We got some ideas that we both actually liked just from the comments, so thank you thank you!
There's still more debating in store, but I'm confident we'll find the perfect name.
You'll have to wait until wee one is born, though, to find out what we agree on. :)

keys and starbucks

Okay, so the day started out great! I snuck out of bed this morning to get ready for another non-stress test/bio of baby. Yuli picked me up, and we got there just a smidgen late, and had to wait over an hour for my ultra sound. Everything looked great there, and then I got hooked up to the monitor for a while. This baby is extremely active, and didn't stop moving the whole time! Therefore, heart rate was pretty high, and they kept me a bit longer to make sure he/she settled down. Baby co-operated, and we started on our way home!

We decided to hit up Starbucks. Yuli thought I might even be able to get an icy sugar-free drink there, and I did! A caramel iced frappaccino to be exact! Mmm...a tasty treat for my taste buds! :)
Anyhow, here's where the fun started.

At Starbucks, we realized that the keys were locked in the car.

At least we went to the Starbucks at the mall. It was an okay place to be stranded, and we had lots of places to look for objects to break into the car!

First we asked the staff at Starbucks if they had anything we could use. Since all they had to offer us were wisps, and tongs, we hit up the clothing stores, hoping to find a metal hanger.
Can you believe ALL of them use plastic hangers? Crazy.

We then hit up Zellers. We bought an expandable bonfire skewer. We made our way back to the parking lot to see what we could do with it.
We were out there for a good hour, and a man walked up and handed us a hanger. Awesome! This could work better. It'd be easier to pry into the door.
After another fifteen minutes of trying with those "tools" a good samaritan (the only one out of probably 50 people walking by) stopped to help us out. He stayed with us for a good half hour.

We all failed. We offered to at least buy the gentleman a coffee for his time, but he declined, and went on with his day.

Nothing was working. We remembered seeing a thicker, heavier hotdog/marshmellow fork in Zellers, so Yuli ran in and bought that too. We must have been something to see. I'm sure we looked ridiculous out there jabbing a giant fork into the door.

We finally got it open though. After two hours in the sun, sweating like pigs. Yuli was so late for work at this point, but we could finally go home!
All because we wanted some Starbucks. :)
It was a crazy day.
It ended nicely though - for me at least. Poor Yuli had to go to work after all that.
I went to my mom's and the girls got to play with their cousins (Bryanna, Austin, and Cameron). We had a BBQ dinner, and the kids played in a water play thing my mom set up for them.
Hopefully the rest of the weekend wont be quite as eventful. Unless of course, it involves having a baby!
...But I wont count on it.

still catching up

Oh my gosh, I can't believe how much I'm slacking on here lately. We've been spending a lot of time outside. Blowing bubbles, getting dirty in the sandbox, and working on landscaping.
Hanna loves being outside almost as much as Gracie does now. Now that the weather's been nicer she's more than happy to just come in and out as she pleases. We have patio doors right off the living room, so the girls can just come in and out.

The countdown is on for the baby now! So excited to meet this little person. Still haven't totally decided on names. I have a whole list of them, and Matt's so darn picky, he's making it hard. Top boy name right now is Mason. Top girl is Hailey. Things can...and probably will change in the coming days I'm sure. Any ideas would be awesome! :)

More exciting news is that I don't have to see my endocrinologist anymore! Yay! He said my numbers are great, and to keep doing what I'm doing until the baby is born. Then I can start snacking away like normal, and he'll see me three months after the baby is born so I can have another glucose tolerance test to make sure the diabetes are gone. That makes me happy. Happy to be dumped.

Right now, the baby is still coming on the 20th. That is actually a week earlier than my actual due date, but he wants to induce a little early just because of the diabetes. He says the main risk is that the placenta can deteriorate faster with the diabetes, so he doesn't want to risk that happening. Unless things happen earlier on their own - which I'm kind of hoping!
I've been having non-stress tests weekly to keep a close eye on things, and so far everything looks beautiful. Happy baby in there!

I'll get some more pictures up of the girls eventually! I've really been slacking. I hope everyone is doing well!
