storm quietness

I agreed to watch Kristyn's kids while they went on a wine tour, and the weather turned out to be a little crappy. The kids spent most of the time in the house, and I was actually thankful when the storm got nasty, and we lost power in the house. It's funny how quiet a house gets just because it's dark.
I helped them build an under-the-table fort, gave them a flashlight, and they made their own fun.
Laughter filled the dark house, as they made shadow puppets for a good hour. I sat with the last bit of battery power on my laptop and an ice-cold coke, listening to the roaring wind and cracks of thunder.
It was probably one of the most relaxing hours I've had in a long time!
