I think it's safe to say that my four little bears are ready for Christmas! 🎄

wedding day

Dan and Shay finally got married!
I didn't get many pictures at all, but I got a few. It was a busy day, and such a fun night! Thankfully, there's a ton of photos I can steal later from various cell phones.
The day started at 8am with hair and makeup.

The girls were very well-behaved, and they all had beautiful hair!
Too bad it barely lasted the ride home.
Oh well.
We hung out for a while at home, I re-curled and re-pinned what I could of the hair, and I tried to catch a shot of all the kiddos dressed up...
Then we all squeezed into the winnie to head to the winery!
I didn't get any good shots of that, and hardly any of the reception, but everyone looked amazing. I don't even have any of the newlyweds. Ugh.
Anyhow, it was a great day and night, and the perfect way to end November and kick off the holiday season!

When he can, he sneaks into the house and jumps right into the bathtub. I turn on the water, he plays in the drips, and he fills the bottom of the tub with dirt.
This guy. Fat. Dirty. Destructive.
Yet, we love him so.

Ben's hilarious.
If he's being silly and crazy, and I tell him to give me a serious face in the middle of a hearty laugh, he can. Just like that. He's quite the little actor.

What a ham.
Extra bonus for the sparkly dust specks in these photos.

*said in her little, adorable, Hailey-only accent"

Hailey: "Mom. These hamburgers must be really small if this pig can fit in a teacup!"

Honestly, what kind of 5-year old would know what a fancy macaroon is anyway? It really made this picture more interesting!

Rocket's spent a couple nights outside recently. He always comes back in the morning to get that cookie he missed by staying outside.
Today, he didn't come back though. All I had to do was walk into the shed and say his name, and he came right down to see me.
Of course he got his cookie.
After munching that down, he grabbed my hand, found my thumb, and started sucking away.
He's an odd one.
Still such a baby. Not sure if he'll venture far for the winter months. We may have a big, fat, half-hibernating coon on our hands.

picture of the day

Well, I harvested my first batch of honey!
Since my colony swarmed, and I lost half of them, I really wasn't expecting to be able to get any honey at all. We had a longer summer though, and I was able to try to stick a honey box on. To my surprise, I ended up getting a nice big jar of honey from that box. About 5 of the 10 frames were about 30% honey filled.
This is a 1600 mL jar, so about 1800 mL.
Not too shabby!

This guy played in the yard with the kids and Kalli as I cleaned the house and put up Christmas lights.
I didn't bring out my camera until after he jumped into the pile of leaves that Hailey was inside. He's a ton of fun, and we're all surprised he still hangs around.
It was pretty comical when I was up on the ladder, he sat beside the bottom of it the whole time. Like a faithful friend.
A jogger was making his way past the house, and did a quick wave and "hey!" as he went by. He then did a quick double-take, and didn't take his eyes off our crazy pet until he was out of view.
I wonder what he was thinking..."Um...does she know she has a raccoon waiting for her at the bottom of that ladder?" "Does she need help I wonder?"
Ha ha ha
Him and Kalli have a very interesting friendship and are inseparable.  :)

It seems like autumn actually exists this year! We've been having beautiful fall weather, and trying to get out as much as possible to enjoy it before we start transitioning to winter. Usually we go straight from summer to winter, so I feel like we're being spoiled by actually getting an autumn.
Kristyn and I decided to take the kids to our local National Park for a day of fresh air and exploring.
Matt's Gram came along for the adventure too which added to the fun.

Austin doesn't think twice to just pick up Ben or throw him onto his back when he starts complaining about being tired. Ben's his biggest fan.

The kids were trying to find as many different leaves as possible to collect, and if they found acorns or pine cones, it was bonus.

We took it easy on the trails because we had Gram along, but we ended up walking more than I wanted for her sake anyway.  It was a good day.
Simple and slow-paced seems to be the trend these days, and I'm just loving it. We all need to learn to take it easy, breath, and enjoy every minute. Days like these are great reminders to myself to do just that.
